Workday, Inc. (WDAY) Competitors

Workday, Inc. offers interested parties cloud-based software for managing finances, human resources, and student/faculty lifecycle. None of these services are unique, so it should come as no surprise to learn that it has numerous competitors out there.
What Is Workday?

Workday is a software vendor. To be exact, it offers software for managing finances, human resources, and student/faculty lifecycle, thus making it relevant to a wide range of businesses as well as other organizations. Like a lot of its counterparts, Workday offers its software as a service – something that has been made possible by cloud computing. Its clients benefit from regular updates, increased responsiveness, and the ability to access the software from anywhere and anytime – so long as they have a suitable terminal. However, they don't own the software in any sense. Regardless, Workday's services can interest a lot of clients out there, which in turn, means that it has a lot of both direct and indirect competitors.
Why Is Intuit a Competitor to Workday?

Intuit specializes in financial software. In fact, chances are good that interested individuals have heard about TurboTax, which is software meant to help people with filing their income taxes. However, it is important to note that Intuit has other financial software as well. For example, QuickBooks is meant to help small businesses with their accounting and their financial management. Similarly, Credit Karma is meant to help out with credit scores, credit reports, and credit monitoring. Other software ranges from ProConnect for tax professionals to Mint.com for personal finance. Since Intuit offers financial management software to certain businesses, this means that its activities do have an impact on Workday's activities and vice versa.
Why Is Salesforce.com a Competitor to Workday?

Salesforce.com is another software vendor that offers its services to interested parties through the cloud. Once again, it isn't a direct competitor to Workday in every single respect. However, there is enough overlap between their respective portfolios for there to be some measure of competition between them. Like its name suggests, Salesforce.com's main product is focused on sales. To be exact, it helps out interested parties with customer relationship management, which has become critical in an age in which businesses can collect huge volumes of data about its interactions with its customers before analyzing that for useful insights. Besides this, Salesforce.com also offers related products. One example would be Lightning Platform, which can be used to create add-on applications for use with its main application. Another example would be Work.com, which is a social performance management platform that is meant to help both managers and employees to become better through a mix of coaching, feedback, and recognition. It is interesting to note that Salesforce.com also has some products such as Data.com, Desk.com, and Do.com that have either been retired or are in the process of being retired.
