How Best Buy Gears Up for Black Friday Sales
Best Buy kicked off the holiday shopping season early with rounds of Black Friday deals weeks before the day after Thanksgiving. It wasn't the only retailer to do so. Supply chain issues, the need to control crowds for safety, and consumer angst over item availability have combined to fuel early holiday shopping. But the big sales weekend is still a go, and consumers can find out more about what to expect from Best Buy on Black Friday below.
Some Items Won't Get Heavy Discounts
Supply and demand are playing a strong role this year, particularly in light of logistics challenges. Video game consoles are in demand, as always, but they're also in short supply. Consumers shouldn't expect big discounts on those types of items or wait until a sale to get the products they want. If high demand items are on a holiday shopping list, it's a good idea to plan to buy them when they're available.
Keep Receipts When Shopping
Best Buy will refund the difference between a purchase price and a later sales price, with some restrictions. It won't, for example, honor competitors' sales prices between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But it will honor its own special pricing. Consumers worried about shopping early and missing out on steep discounts can hedge their bets by keeping receipts and presenting them for a partial credit or refund if sales prices drop.
What Is Getting a Discount?
Best Buy is cutting prices on tech items and accessories of all price levels. Consumers shopping for headphones and earbuds, smart watches and fitness trackers, computer peripherals, and Apple products can score discounts on Black Friday. The Oculus VR systems may also be available at a discount, offering an option to more traditional video game consoles.
Best Buy offers deals in stores and online during the sales season, so consumers that miss out in store may be able to score deals online.
